Nile

That you regret death,
In your Sun and shade-
You love and embalm,
To heal my calm,

Nile, there you stand-
Holding life in my hand,

That you have devised storm,
In your every form-
You love the purring breeze;
To caress my endearing knees,

Nile, you divide us now-
To flow deep and wide in my brow,

That you brought this plenty wave.
In this pantheon cave,
You love the snowy bloom-
To create my poetry in thy loom,

Nile, you dream under this nurturing sky.
To speak with a glimpse of thy eye,

That you reap on flying clouds,
In your divine rout-
You love an autumn’s lonely fold,
To narrate tales never told-

Nile, you negate the echoing-mountain ground,
Lest we breathe hope, while we drowned,

That you hope to embrace-
Entwining faith to faith;
You love to wait,
To open my temple-gate,

Nile, you reside in my tepid tears.
Of a loving smile, in early years-

And now you move,
In my secret groove,
Lending ear to my wild and meandering cries,
To kill thy wisdom, and make me wise
